Iā€™m a Baltimore-born artist who grew up in Minnesota, Chicago, and New Hampshire before landing in my current home of Pennsylvania.

As you can see, I moved around a lot growing up - reading and art became a large part of my life and were more to me than hobbies. My books and pencils were some of my best friends. I carried them with me even when I went off to undergrad where I received my Bachelors in Art Education and then to grad school when I got my Masters in Arts Management. I now work as an Art Director in publishing and know that little me would be so proud.

My career in the arts began in museum education where I worked as a Curator of Education at The Trout Gallery: The Art Museum at Dickinson College then transitioned into a role as a high school art and AP Art History teacher at Carlisle High School. After receiving my Master's in 2019, I accepted a position with the PA Council on the Arts and served as the Director of the Creative Sector before deciding to take my art-making full-time in 2021. I roamed as a freelance artist until accepting my current role in 2023.

As the first bi-racial person to be born in both lines of my family, most of my work explores the duality of my existence. I draw from my experiences and use art-making to investigate identity. Imagery steeped in familiarity and nostalgia is the cornerstone of my work. I use objects and scenes from my Korean-American upbringing to tell the complex, layered story of existing as a culturally mixed woman in America.
